When designing a collection, much of my ideas come from playing around on the dress form: draping fabrics, cutting up old clothing and piecing back together in funky ways, pairing unexpecting colors/fabrics together. Sometimes a draft for one element of a look will end up becoming part of another look. Picking pieces of different drapes and blending ideas together through collage and digital sketching is what helps me to get organized in the design process.
